For Greyhounds, the ratio between chest and waist is crucial—it can vary dramatically! To measure your Greyhound accurately, use a soft measuring tape and measure the dog while standing. Make sure the tape measure isn't too tight, but fits snugly against the body.
When measuring your chest, allow about two fingers for comfort. For some sighthounds, especially Galgos and Greyhounds, the chest measurement may be one or even two sizes larger than what you would choose based on their back length. Our size charts take these specifics into account.
Are you unsure between two sizes? Choose the larger size and make sure the jacket has sufficient adjustment options, such as adjustable straps at the waist and neck. A jacket that's too tight restricts movement and can chafe, while a jacket that's too loose doesn't retain heat effectively and can snag.
